A would be thief attacked Julian Torras as he opened the office door to deposit cash in the Mutual Light and Water company safe on Grant street. Torras suffered facial bruises but is not seriously harmed. Police have no clue to the attacker.
The First Baptist church held a fervent service where Rev. Frank Jackson preached Witnessing for Christ and many unconvinced men sought prayers. Observers note a nationwide shift as men engage more in religion, with another preaching service planned at 7 30. Mr Lyon leads singing and volunteers are invited to help.

A. S. Cronkhite aged 64 was convicted in superior court on a serious charge and sentenced to twenty years in the state penitentiary. He ran a Gloucester street optical shop and pleaded not guilty, though witnesses testified damagingly. Judge Conyers imposed the term after a speedy trial. Edwin W. Dart was appointed by the court to defend him.
The Glynn superior court met at 10 o'clock with Judge C. B. Conyers presiding. The grand jury organized with L. H. Haym foreman and C. J.
