Turkish delegates meet with allied Balkan state representatives in the City of London to discuss terms and seek a peace arrangement. The talks bring together diplomats from multiple nations amid a broader effort to ease regional tensions.
Delegates from Bulgaria Servia Montenegro Greece meet Turkish envoys at St James Palace London to decide peace or renewed war over the Balkans. Grey pledges neutrality and support, while allies demand Adrianople Scutari and Janina's surrender, Greek annexations, Crete union, war indemnity, and amnesty for Muslims.
At Americus on January 4 the Empire State league will elect permanent officers and decide the sixth berth for its six team lineup. Five teams today are Waycross Valdosta Brunswick Cordele and Americus with Fitzgerald LaGrange Dublin or Thomasville in contention. President N P Corish of the South Atlantic league is invited to assist in completing by laws and protection steps.
A minor wreck occurred yesterday afternoon at the Four-Mile crossing where an outgoing freight on the A B A collided with an incoming Southern train. The Southern engine and an A B A car were badly damaged. the third A B A locomotive had passed when the impact happened. Traffic was halted briefly with no other injuries reported.
Rail lines including Southern Railway Cincinnati New Orleans Texas Pacific Alabama Great Southern New Orleans Northeastern Mobile C Ohio will serve sweet potatoes free on December 18 in dining cars. Special menus and ongoing inclusion on menus aim to boost Southern sweet potato demand and farming.

Announcement from Lakewood New Jersey states Miss Helen Miller Gould of New York will marry Finley J. Shepard, an executive tied to Missouri Pacific, with Gould family confirming the engagement. Shepard is noted for railroad and financial work in the West and Helen Gould, heir to Jay Gould’s estate, has long funded benefactions.
The Brunswick Grand theater housed a full audience of colored residents who were seated in the orchestra while white patrons were directed to the balcony for Black Patti. Officials may close the venue for fumigation due to two or three smallpox cases among the colored community.
Constantinople reports a morning naval clash off Lemnos in which the Greek fleet withdrew. The Greeks lost a cruiser and two torpedo boats while Turkish forces lost a cruiser and a torpedo destroyer, according to a Dardanelles telegram via Rome.
Nat Reiss presents a traveling wild animal show billed as the largest on the American continent. Lions, tigers, leopards and more perform in a fifty foot arena under trained handlers. Notable trainers include Herrebertino, Mile, Flora, Ogilvie, Captain Taylor and Princess Dixon. The exhibit features a carved gilt front with mirrors and a $19,000 Gavolia organ and comfortable patron amenities.
The H. M. Miller Furniture company unveils a striking Christmas window display crafted by a talented artist. The store also showcases a line of holiday foods rivaling offerings of a much larger city, with the displays only a sample of the shop.
Sunday gathering at First Baptist church united Sunday schools Advent McKendree St Marks Episcopal First Methodist Presbyterian First Baptist Lutheran and North End Baptist to create a permanent charity organization. A. V. Wood elected chair with A M Way treasurer and a broad executive committee to distribute Christmas offerings and aid needy families through Associated Charities.
In Washington the National Conference of the Woman's Christian Temperance Union conducts pressure on lawmakers to pass the Kenyon Shepherd bill banning liquor shipments to dry states. Delegates led by Lillian M. N. Stevens and Anna Gordon meet senators and representatives before Congress adjourns for holidays. Senator Sanders backs the measure while Senator McCumber notes it targets bootleggers and blind pig operations, not wet states.
President Taft announced that the United States will not appoint a new ambassador to Great Britain after Whitelaw Reid's death. The decision followed a White House meeting with Secretary Knox. London accepted the news and Prime Minister Asquith paid tribute in the House of Commons. A memorial service for Reid was set for Friday at Westminster Abbey.
