Atlanta August 25 The railroads seek to depart from a straight mileage scale in Georgia intrastate freight rates to remove shipping point discriminations. Woman Dies in Bed Fire in Savannah

Hostile airships crossed England’s east and southeast coasts between midnight and 3 am. Nine people were injured, three killed, with scattered damage including wrecked houses and a dairy. Captain shot and killed at Camp Harris

Captain J. T. Spratling of the Fifth Infantry from Atlanta was shot and killed in front of his tent at noon. A woman identifying herself as Mrs. H. C. Adams of Atlanta fired the shot and provided no statement beyond saying she is married and has three children.
