Yar August 12 the three masted Myroneus with lead crAnite was sunk in a collision with the Neptune line steamer Tennessee in Long Island Sound. Four crew members drowned. The Tennessee was damaged but passengers were saved after Maine. A heavy fog caused the crash off the coast.

An early morning fire destroyed a small negro shanty at the corner of Wolf and L streets after flames gained headway before the alarm. The fire department was alerted by telephone and arrived promptly to find the structure almost totally consumed.

J Ligeour commercial agent for the A B A was arrested and convicted in police court for posting circulars on a post in front of his office. The city had just passed an ordinance prohibiting posting circulars on posts trees fences or billboards. He claimed misunderstanding of the rule and was fined.
