Lease Planned for Governor's Mansion in Atlanta

Atlanta, Aug 10. Preparations to lease the governor mansion on Peachtree Street will start after the legislature adjourns. A senate bill creates a commission to lease the mansion for up to five years. A house amendment to spend 125000 for a new governor residence was killed, leaving permanent housing undecided. The commission includes the governor, secretary of state, two senators, three representatives, and three citizens.
