The Georgia Glynn County case before Judge Parker validated and confirmed a $75,000 bond issue for courthouse and jail construction. County officials will hold a special meeting to authorize bidding and sale of the bonds after notices published in the Brunswick News.
Columbus Georgia August 1 A young man Joe G 3041 win of Columbus was married to Phenix City Alabama escorted by two men with Winchester rifles and placed in jail on a charge of attempted criminal assault against Mrs E Partridge wife of a farmer in Deaston Lee County Alabama The arrest occurred after Goodwin went into Alabama to deliver stock and the Partridge home was the scene of the alleged crime The prisoner reportedly said Mrs Partridge appeared to be inquiring further details of the offense
The City completed the Gamewall fire alarm system inBrunswick last week with no alarms since completion. Chief Green tested the system and found it in perfect working order, praising the improvement over the old setup.
In Boulder Colorado today a powder magazine exploded causing one or two deaths and about a hundred injuries. The blast was heard for miles and many wounded were nearby at the site. The exact cause is not yet known and several injuries may prove fatal.
Atlanta Aug 10 The house passed the general appropriation bill amid many changes and twenty eight local measures. The senate approved Steed’s Catholic bill and considered local measures. The general tax act was read for the first time as lawmakers face a heavy remaining workload before adjournment with a likely extra session needed.

A man entered the stairway above The News office last night and stole a light bicycle belonging to C. A. McCardie who rooms upstairs. McCardie traced the wheel to Hoffman's pawn shop on Bay Street where a young man pawned it for five dollars. The thief remains at large.
An October session will hear a petition to set aside the judgment probating the will of Susan J. Wood. Plaintiff Mrs. M. Z. Burns of Atlanta challenges her brother J. W. Wood, former executor, over property on Union Street now in Brooklyn. Attorneys Moore Gordon Branch and D W Krauss represent Burns.
Rev. A C Ward D D receives a unanimous call to the Catholic church in Savannah as reports he is considering the action. If Ward leaves Atlanta it ends a long tenure at Temple Baptist with over fourteen years as pastor and the status of dean among Atlanta Baptist pastors.
Reported yellow fever cases in GIENTUBUS Cuba with American authorities leading containment efforts. Navy agents in New York Baltimore and Newport News chartered fourteen vessels to haul coal for Pacific Fleet ships, with much already dispatched. St Simon Transit adds two extra boats to its schedule today.
The Norwegian steamer Freyedel, captained by P Wrantzen, was wrecked early today on Western Malcolm ledges about 20 miles from Rockland Maine. She left Stockton Springs last night with two thirds of a spool wood cargo valued at $35,000 for Glasgow and was bound for Halifax to complete the cargo. The steamer is valued at $100,000 and is insured.
The International Molders Union of North America adjourned today after selecting Milwaukee for its 1916 gathering. All executive officers who refused a salary increase were reelected.

Atlanta Aug 10 The senate passed Holder's bill by 32 to 7 to impose a $50 penalty on telegraph and telephone companies for delays in delivering messages. The measure excludes towns under 800 population. Horn's proposal to allow punitive damages for relatives of an employee injured by a corporation was defeated 20 to 7.
A man named Woge was jailed on a murder charge following an arrest by a court officer. The case involves alleged violent crime and ongoing legal proceedings. Local authorities did not provide further details regarding motive or the victim.
