Water situation serious in Charlotte amid drought

Charlotte North Carolina July 31 reports say the water supply is depleted with no regular sources. Water must be hauled in tank cars from the Catawba river ten miles away to supply the city reservoir Briar creek connection will provide about two thirds of normal supply once turned on tomorrow night. Ground for the Broadway and Lexington avenue subway in Manhattan was broken today as part of New York's expanding underground system.
