J D Hough Jr aged 19 of Macon drowned this afternoon in the Ocmulgee river nine miles below Macon near the Brunswick bridge. The body has not been recovered as searching parties head out at daylight. Four companions on a boat ride saw him dive in to swim for the boat and he disappeared. Hough was a Vineville wood yards employee and son of former Manchester mills manager Captain J D Hough.
