All Going to Albany for Military Exercises

The Riflemen Naval Reserves and Marine band will travel by special Plant System train to Albany for chautauqua exercises. Train leaves Brunswick at 8 pm and returns after midnight, with many members and visiting citizens joining the event. A special round trip rate is offered and schedules are convenient.

Wreck Delays Southern Passenger Trains Between Brunswick and Macon

A collision of two freight trains on the Southern yesterday delayed all passenger trains from Brunswick to Macon. The 2 35 voyage arrived about 9 PM. No serious injuries reported though details were scarce at night.

Cotton Oil Combine Formed After Long Conference

Representatives of the American Cotton Oil, American Cotton, Virginia-Carolina Chemical, and Planters' Cypress companies met in New York for a lengthy conference with the aim of forming a combine. Georgia society moves to inspect Frederica fort

At a Savannah meeting of the Georgia society of Colonial Damel the president was authorized to appoint a committee to visit the old fort at Frederica, study its condition and report back. The panel will assess washaway by the tide and decide rescue steps for the historic site.

Gates Belmont Morgan Conference Over L N Stock Deposits

John W. Gates and August Belmont met with Morgan representatives in New York today. Reports that large blocks of Louisville and Nashville stock were deposited with Morgan & Co. under the Belmont Gates agreement circulated but could not be confirmed. Rumors of the Seaboard Air Line taking cash for Gates holdings were also denied.

Tendon reports the Marquis of Downside was granted a divorce for the misconduct of the Marchioness, Miss Har, with Capt. Joseph Laycock of the Yeomanry named as co respondent. The case was not defended and counsel admitted the charges.

Paris on the exposition grounds was disrupted when a man claiming to be a socialist attempted a demonstration against President Loubet. Thousands surged in excitement and a mob formed to attack the agitator. police intervened, keeping the crowd back and jailing the man.

Fourteen Coaches Leave Atlanta for Dallas Reunion

Fourteen coaches, about sixty people including two veterans, left Atlanta yesterday via the West Point route for Dallas, Texas, for a veterans reunion next week. Gen. Clement A. The senate passed a bill to prevent adulteration and misbranding of foods beverages and drugs in the District of Columbia and territories and regulate interstate traffic. The Cuban reciprocity bill was read from the house and tabled. A Chinese exclusion bill conference was ordered with Senator Clay named. A Teller resolution sought a committee to probe sugar trust crop purchases and duty effects. The house spent most of the day on minor business.

Saw Mill Men Hold Regional Lumber Conference

Twenty seven or more leading lumbermen from the Carolinas Georgia Florida and Virginia met in Charleston to tighten ties among southern sawmill associations. Murder in First Degree for Van Wormers in Hallenbeck Killing

Hudson New York April 19 The jury found Burton Willis and Frederick van Wormer guilty of murder in the first degree for killing their uncle Peter A Hallenbeck last Christmas Eve. The death sentence was pronounced minutes after the verdict. The trio and cousin Harvey Bruce were involved in the fatal shooting at the Hallenbeck home after the door opened.
