Old Settlers Reunion at Linneus Postponed to 1926

Heavy rain during the past week forced the Old Settlers Reunion at Linneus to be postponed from Thursday through Saturday night. Organizers say the weather, not consulted forecasters, cooled the plans and disappointed hundreds who looked forward to the event.

Alfred Willard Shutts Dies at 18 in Iowa

Alfred Willard Shutts born March 12 1907 in Sullivan county near Scottsville died September 7 1925 in Glennwood Iowa at age 18 years 6 months and 25 days He spent most of his life in the local community except for a recent move to Glennwood where he found work and later served as a guard at the state university for the feeble minded before an appendicitis operation ended his life.

Obituary Notice for Sullivan County Resident

After days of severe illness he seemed to recover but then declined and died after six weeks. His body was returned to Sullivan county for burial with interment at Oak Grove east of Milan on Wednesday September 9 at 2 pm. Funeral services were led by Elder Howard B. Underwood of Milan. He is survived by his parents one sister one brother and many relatives and friends.

The 109th Missouri Annual Conference ended in Chillicothe with a 196 to 14 vote in favor of unification of the two Methodist churches. The Bishop announced appointments including Rev.
