Mrs Walter Jerome and two children visited her father James Hammock eight miles west of town when a playful moment led to the child choking on beads slipping down her throat. Medical aid came too late and the funeral was held at Mt Olive Baptist Church Wednesday at 11 am with many friends offering sympathy.
W Hershey of Roundup threshed a 20 acre wheat field last Saturday and produced 57 bushels per acre. The harvest is the first in the area with many crops still in progress and expected banner yields county wide. The wheat, grown on bottom land without irrigation, matched upland wheat in appearance. Last Tuesday August 24 at 6 p.m. five month old Alva Lawrence grandson of Mr and Mrs George Lawrence died at their home. The remains lie in Deep Spring cemetery beside his mother who died months earlier. The community extends sympathy to the family.

Effie Corrinne White died August 29 1915 at age 27 years 8 months 21 days. She leaves a father mother five sisters and one brother. Funeral by Elder B D Bolling at the Christian church. She is remembered as an obedient daughter and loving sister with a farewell verse.
Miss Naoma Mundell married Leander Kimbrough Wednesday at the Mundell home with Rev. J H Henry of Meadville officiating. The couple, praised for promising futures, receive warm wishes from family and friends for a long, happy married life.

G L Joyce the Bucklin fruit tree crank offers a cash prize of 25 dollars to the Missouri overseer who plants or arranges the planting of the greatest number of fruit trees or seeds along the public high.
The Missouri Ruralist outlines requirements for overseers in Bucklin districts. Plant one tree per place if trees, or three to ten seeds per place, at least sixteen feet apart. An affidavit lists counts, districts, and planting dates, due to the Bank of Bucklin or Citizens Bank of Bucklin by December 24. Seed and tree counts after April 1 are credited to the contest. Browning Public Schools begin Monday September 6 with Supt Enyeart and staff ready to lead a new term. Building cleaned or papered, a new well provides ample water. Pupils needing books will find them at the school building. The program aims to meet country students needs and the Parent Teachers Association supports a banner school year.
Mr and Mrs Loren Vincent hosted many young people at their home last Thursday night. The evening featured amusements and games with cream and cake refreshments. Guests departed late, thanking the Vincents for the pleasant entertainment. One attendee was present.
Elmore Ayers of near Pennville was seriously injured last week when a pitchfork fell from a hay stack and pierced his body with the handle. Local reports say the accident occurred as the fork slid off the stack and struck him.
