City reports numerous complaints of boys using air rifles and slingshots breaking street light bulbs and window glass. A city ordinance bans these within limits with fines from 1 to 50 dollars. Mayor C. W. Gooch and City Clerk H. L. Adams urge parental supervision to stop the behavior.

Red Cross Room Closure Acknowledges Legion Help

The Red Cross work room in Browning has closed for now as all material has been worked up. To date 15,000 surgical sponges have been made in this room. The ladies thank Mr Bailey and the Legion for the use of their buildings.

George Thomas Crist died at his Winigan Missouri home on October 21 1944 aged 73 years 4 months and 3 days He was born June 18 1871 in Sullivan County and left six children eleven grandchildren and two sisters His funeral was held October 23 at the Winigan Baptist Church with Rev Spurling of Kirksville officiating and burial in Price Cemetery
