Farmers of Linn County Plan Series of Meetings

Farmers in Linn County will hold a set of township meetings October 17 to 22 to relay information on farming practices and the Agricultural Adjustment Act. J Robert Hall or a county committee member will present details and election of the 1938 Township Committeemen will follow. A county reorganization meeting will be held afterward to elect county officers.

Kenley Yardsley Nuptials in Trenton Missouri

Miss Floy Kenley of Browning and Mr. Tom Yardley of Milan wed Saturday October 1 in Trenton Missouri at the Baptist Church manse. Rev Hurst officiated. The couple, joined by Ellis Boyd and L E Bauman families, plan to reside in Riggen's apartment with Yardley employed by L E Bauman Cleaning.

Bids Received for Local Auditorium Gym Project

Four contractors have submitted sealed bids for the local auditorium gym project. Bids will be opened next Tuesday at noon and a contract awarded if a bid is accepted. With good weather, interior work could proceed this fall. no action yet on acquiring additional grounds.

Plans outline installing powerful flood lights at the local ball park next spring. At least three softball teams will be organized, uniforms provided, and a selected All-Stars team formed from all participants. Softball is highlighted as a popular local entertainment and athletes plan a big season.
