Browning Street Fair Draws Five Thousand Plus Fans

The third annual Browning Street Fair on October 7–8 drew a large crowd with no arrests. premiums totaling about 225 dollars were offered for livestock and exhibit categories. Main Street was groomed and sections cordoned for contests as horses mules and carriages drew praise from locals and visitors.

Surprise Birthday Party for Mrs Jennings Near Agra Oklahoma

On Saturday night October 1 1910 friends of Mrs M D Jennings near Agra Oklahoma staged a pleasant surprise for her birthday. About 45 people attended bringing supper and sharing a sumptuous feast at eight oclock. Guests departed later wishing Mrs Jennings many more happy returns. Present were Sam Fields and family who formerly lived near Browning Sullivan County.

Handsome Babies Vie In Street Fair Baby Show

The Street Fair featured a baby show with 23 entries. Judge panel Mesdames Jones Smith and Mee Collum awarded the prize of five dollars to Mrs. Chas. E. Rinehart's infant, delivered by Elder Fitzgerald. Francis promised to renew the prize next year with double entries.

Thefts Reported After Street Fair At Opera House

Burglars stole lap robes whips food and other items during the city show. Shoes scarves coats and overcoats were taken by light fingered thieves. A new student Miss Ray Phillips from near Hasville joined the school. The street fair proceeds funded pies and popcorn for the library and a student debate on war versus intemperance is planned Friday.

Sunday relatives gathered at Philip Brumbaugh's home for a family reunion. Attending were Dr. P. G. Brumbaugh of Milan and daughters Mrs. F. J. Alspach near the city, Mrs. G. W. Lantz of Brown ing, Mrs. Chas. E. Hulett of Topeka Kansas, and Mrs. A. M. Arthurs of Big Cabin Oklahoma. The gathering brought great happiness to the host.

Republican candidates of Sullivan county addressed a sizable audience at the opera house on Thursday night. Jamison and Otis spoke at length as candidates for representative and prosecuting attorney, with other candidates offering brief remarks.
