Governor Hadley to Enter Corn Exhibit at Missouri State Fair

Governor Herbert S Hadley will compete with Missouri corn growers at the Tenth Annual State Fair in Sedalia from October 1 to 7. He raised the crop on his Cole county farm, the first crop on that timber land. The exhibit promises to be among the best, drawing farmer interest across the state.

Baptist Ladies Aid Street Fair Menu

The menu for the Street Fair served by the Baptist Ladies Aid Society on October 7 and 8 offers two meals. Dinner features roast chicken boiled beef dressing gravy mashed potatoes sweet potatoes salads pickles slow apple sauce pie coffee and tea. Ditcher Attracts City as Ditching Crew Finishes Duncan Cut

The ditching crew completed work on the Duncan cut this week. Dirt filled bridges and widened the road bed on the hill north side and formed a fill at Purdin hill foot. Several train loads were hauled toward Laclede. The ditcher impressed locals as a rapid two train operation loaded cars in minutes.
