E L Havens Dies at 62 in Wadsworth Kansas

Earnest Leon Havens born 1888 in Cora Missouri died September 27 1950 at Veterans Hospital Wadsworth Kansas aged 62. Survived by wife Mary Elizabeth Leeper one son Howard Wayne stepdaughter Alpha Dean Leeper eight sisters five brothers and many nieces and nephews. He served in World War II with the 89th Division and lay in state at Christian Church with military funeral at Kai fong cemetery.

Aged Mother Passes at Son's Home in Missouri

Henrietta Jane Spencer Fanning died September 30 1950 at her son Floyd D Fanning's home in Corn Missouri at age 85. She was born October 1 1864 in Sullivan County Missouri one of ten children. Survived by son Floyd two grandchildren and four great grandchildren plus three sisters and three brothers. Funeral held October 2 1950 Mt Zion Church officiated by Rev Clyde Johnson. Burial beside husband in local cemetery.

Mrs J E Wykoff returned from Graham Missouri after visiting relatives to travel Labor Day with her sister and husband to Huron South Dakota for Tiffany Reunion. En route they stopped in Mitchell to see the world’s only Corn Palace decorated with corn panels and Indian Summer motifs by Oscar Howe. The building seats over 5000 and features Morrish design with scenes of wild game and pioneer history. Decorations used 600 bushels of corn and other grains.
