Peterson Welcomes First Child Home After Kirksville Visit
B F Peterson returned from Kirksville with his wife who was visited by the stork. The couple welcomed a baby boy weighing at least ten pounds. David C. Cassity died instantly at his Smithville area home on September 24 1925 aged 56 years 6 months and 14 days He was born February 10 1869 in Linn County near Browning and lived in the region most of his life He married Suretta Thurlo in 1895 and left one daughter a brother and sister He was a section foreman on the O K railway earlier and was a longtime member of Purdin I O C F Burial services were held in Purdin Cemetery after a service conducted by Rev W F Rice with local honor from the I O C F board Continued local notice for the Cassity family.

Women Prisoners Moved to State Farm Housing
The sixty three women inmates at the penitentiary have been moved to a state prison farm. The action aims to ease congestion and reallocate space. The female department will be used to house some of the better behaved and higher class male prisoners.
Women prisoners to be housed on farm with productive work
The plan assigns women prisoners to live in a large residence on a farm and require them to work in truck farming, chicken raising, and greenhouse plant growing. No factory work will be performed. Revenue would come from a twenty five cent visitor charge, with about 11 000 visitors in the past month.
