Death of Thomas Southerland at Brookfield
Thomas Delaware Southerland born April 23, 1870 on a farm east of Purdin. He married Mary Browning in Sullivan county on December 30, 1890 and had two daughters and a son. He later worked in restaurants and farming before moving to Brookfield where he died at 30 West Prairie Street. Funeral held at home with Rev. Rudloff. interment Rose Hill cemetery. Survived by wife, children, two grandchildren, three sisters and many relatives. The community mourns his loss.

David Manly Hamilton was born July 26 1862 near Momence Illinois. He died October 15 1932 at his home near Humphreys aged 70 years 2 months 19 days. He married May Duckworth June 6 1888 and had no children. He served as Grand Master of the I C C F and was known for generosity and loyalty to friends. He leaves a wife four brothers and many friends.

Longtime Linn County Resident Samuel H Linhart Dies at 85
Samuel H Linhart aged 85 and 7 days, longtime Linn county resident, died at his home after months of illness on November 10. He married Virginia Safreed in 1873, the couple would have celebrated 60 years in March. Nine children were born, seven survive with eleven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Surviving children include Edith Harris, Alpha Dodson, Curtis Linhart, Mae Sanburg, Ernest Linhart, Walter Linhart, and Ephonso Linhart. Funeral held at home, burial in North Salem Cemetery.
