Obituary of J Frank Smith in Missouri and Iowa family ties
J Frank Smith died November 6 1934 at his Browning Missouri home after a short illness. He was born February 3 1865 in Macoupin County Illinois, first married Eliza Conner producing four children then married Stella Hyatt. Surviving are his wife two sets of children sisters and a niece and nephew. Funeral services were held in Browning and Fairfield Iowa with interment in Evergreen Cemetery beside his mother.

A crew will remove the old bridge floor and lay a new one tomorrow morning. Funds were raised by Locust Creek Drainage District Benton and Duncan townships and local citizens. Volunteers and truck drivers will supply materials and labor to restore the bridge for Browning and surrounding communities.
