School District R-1 to Vote on Levy Tuesday

Ada Bennett Stone, born June 18 1876 near Browning Missouri, died March 23 1950 at age 73 years 9 months 5 days after a hip injury kept her bedridden since January 1948. Survived by husband William D Stone and three children H D Stone Adram Stone and Mrs Carl Atkins, nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Funeral March 26 at Dryridge Church conducted by Rev Kenneth Peery. Pallbearers listed. Burial at nearby cemetery.

True Blue Club Meeting Details and Gifts

Mrs Lawrence Tate hosted the True Blue Club on March 22 with roll call An ironing trick. The group voted to donate one dollar to the Easter Seal drive for crippled children. A hostess gift of 2.80 was brought and won by Mrs Austin Seward. Contests went to Mrs Willie Burch and Mrs Seward. The next meeting is April 12 at Mrs Junior Phillips home. The Junior class and guests enjoyed a party at the roller skating ring in Chillicothe on March 24.

The Claude Myers Post No. 274 Auxiliary met at the Legion Hall March 27 with Mrs. Ovid Atkins presiding. They voted to donate to the Red Cross send two local girls to Missouri Girls State and pay for two local students’ medical exams, and to send fruit baskets to Carr Rest Home. They reported on the March 15 benefit card party and outlined plans for a Browning district meeting April 6 with a covered dish luncheon and musical program.
