North Salem Quilting Club Gathers New Members Visitors
North Salem quilting club met with Flossie Wyatt on Thursday March 17. Fifteen old members two new members and twenty nine visitors attended an all day meeting. Two new members joined as the group worked two thirds of Flossie Wyatt’s small flower garden quilt was in frames. A cafeteria style dinner followed noon hour before resuming work. 4-H County Achievement Day Planned in Sullivan County
On Saturday March 26 Sullivan County 4-H clubs meet at Milan High School at 10 am for Grain Judging Clothing Health and First Aid and Entomology contests. Two livestock clubs Beef Calf and Ewe and Lamb were formed last fall with members raising calves and ewes and keeping expense records. The afternoon features 4-H meetings parliamentary practice singing reading and demonstrations inviting all to attend.

Statewide clean up of eating places under way
The Missouri State Board of Health began a state wide drive in January to improve cleanliness in eating and drinking places. An average of 450 sites were inspected in January and February compared with 250 in 1937, with Dr Harry F Parker noting efforts aim to be cost effective yet ensure basic sanitation.
