A. B. Clark, a well to do farmer from Duncan township, dodged the editor for some time. Friday at the town pump near Peoples Bank the editor surprised him and held him up in broad daylight with his wife present. Bud Clark is a good man but once bought a sheep from the editor, and the score is settled for a year.
The letter urges Linn County boys to enter the corn raising contest and order seed corn now. First class seed is scarce at 60 Missouri farmers available and home grown seed is encouraged if high quality. Seed can be obtained through W. P. Brinkley or I. N. Bond with money and variety named. Premiums will be offered as the 200 county boys are expected to participate.
A Missouri expatriate writes about a mild Dakota winter, prices for farm goods, and invites visitors to Hot Springs. The note includes a township spelling contest notice by Ray S. Tomlin, urging pupil participation and emphasizing learning over prizes. The writer signs as J. T. Lou.
