Thief Breaks Office Window Steals Paint at Long Bell Lumber
A window was broken at the Long Bell Lumber Company office. The thief unlocked the window after removing a screen and carried off eight gallons of white paint. The intruder refilled shelves with paint on the floor, and the loss was discovered early in the week.

Elza Bauswell Dies Rescuing Boys Near Knifong
Elza Bauswell, born 1887 near Duncan township, died while rescuing two Knifong boys from a deep water hole near the Old Fields Mill. Sid Brown and Orbra Knifong helped bring the boys to shore before Bauswell disappeared. Ralph Pipes recovered the body. no inquest held. He left a wife Norman and four children. Funeral held at Kaifong cemetery with Rev. Yves officiating.
