Sullivan County farmers visit Missouri Experiment Field
Sullivan County farmers led by County Agent Rolla A Baugher and Assistant Paul H Meyer toured the Missouri College of Agriculture Experiment Field at Columbia on June 2. The group studied one year rotations wheat Korean lespedeza winter barley soybeans and oats Korean lespedeza for hay and pasture and discussed soil type fertility and rotation integration for efficient farm management.

Wolves Do Great Dam Age Report in County
Frequent lamb losses to wolves are being reported to the County Agent’s office. Losses affect several communities, spurring farmer groups for protection. In eastern Sullivan County between Sorrell and Prairie Dale Church, farmers including John Bankus and Marvin Watt report substantial lamb losses. Some farmers have formed a local bounty fund, assessing 5 cents per head to pay for wolves caught, with calls for county wide action.
