Noble Brown pled guilty to murdering his wife and will be sentenced next week at the opening of the June term in the circuit court at Linneus. Judge Paul Van Osdel heard the plea in a crowded courtroom after widespread front page coverage.
Local shop advertises ongoing price markdowns described as live and let live pricing. Officials have not released pricing details or duration.
Fishermen report several big catches. John Quigley and sons caught a very large fish near Brum baugh ford after a strong struggle. Mason Thurlo landed catfish around 36 and 34 pounds. Voris Langdon and Les ter Peters found a fish over 40 pounds, 45 inches long, in shallow water near Brum baugh ford.
The Sid Kingdon Players return to Browning for three days starting Thursday June 8. The opening three act comedy The Man From Texas will be staged with vaudeville between acts and new music by the orchestra featuring Leo Lacey on cornet. General admission is 10 cents with one free lady per paid ticket on Thursday night.
The Ordinance of Baptism will be administered at the evening service at 8 o'clock. Two candidates awaiting baptism at Linneus will be baptised at the same hour. The night message will be The Ox and the Ass. June 14th is Flag Day with next Sunday’s sermon Show Your Colors. Special music planned for both services.
Henry Watson posts a formal notice forbidding any hunting or fishing on his farm for the year 1933. Violations may lead to prosecution.
Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Norvell celebrated the first anniversary of their daughter Clarice Nadine with a sumptuous one o clock dinner Sunday. Ten guests joined the family, dinner table was elegantly decorated, and a cake with a single pink candle stood at the head of the feast as the candle was lit and blown out.
The gathering included Clarice Nadine as the honor guest with Mr. and Mrs. Leland Norvell and family, Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Norvell, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Taylor, and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Norvell and daughter Wilma, noting a milestone.
Earl M Campbell of Linn County writes J Robert Hall praising the Linn County Sheep and Wool Growers Pool. He says he received a wool check on Monday, earned 26 cents per pound net, totaling 13.08 dollars profit on 218 pounds, better than local prices. He notes his home east of Old Leverton and remains a wool pool booster.

Miss Erma Peterson of this city competes in the Fox DeGraf Theatre Popularity Contest in Brookfield that ends June 24. Ten three day trips to the Chicago fair will be awarded, and Erma is eager to win one of these trips. See notice for particulars.
Hubert Baskett and Gladys Thudium wed Saturday in Lin neus with Judge Pratt uniting them. The couple, from Shafter and St Catherine, hosted a wedding dinner for family and friends, followed by a charivari and celebratory treats.
Jas. F. Ashbrook born October 15 1863 Linn County Missouri died May 31 1933 Linneus Missouri at age 69 years 7 months 16 days. Survived by widow Susie Head married October 1913 two children from a former marriage reside in Dallas Oregon two brothers Ralph and Oscar Ashbrook of Wewoka Oklahoma and many relatives. Funeral held June 1 Garner cemetery conducted by Elder Wm. Coram. It is appointed unto man once to die and after death the judgement.
June 1 report from C. P. Owens of the Missouri State Highway Department states that over 185 pounds of nails spikes and iron objects are cleared from gravel roads daily, totaling 14 tons last year across 7,000 miles. The driven machinery is home developed and noted for power and effectiveness.
Mrs W W Henderson in charge of the Missouri Home for Orphan Children at Carrollton made a cordial call in our city Saturday afternoon. Recently appointed she brings long newspaper experience and aims to place about thirty of nearly one hundred children in good homes, inviting interested families to visit Carrollton to meet the children.
Mr and Mrs J T Hoselton and their children of near Winigan visited Mr and Mrs Corey McQuown and Mr and Mrs Della Hoselton on Sunday in a family gathering.
Linn County 4 H Leaders plan an all day session in Linneus on Saturday June 10. The county has 33 clubs with 353 members up seven clubs and 100 youths from last year. The program lists speakers and demonstrations including J Robert Hall Janie Hinote Bertha Banning and Pauline Matson with meals and demonstrations to boost club achievements.
A surprise party was held Saturday night June 3 in honor of Jessie Linhart turning 13. Music by the Chaffee and Minor Bros. and others, indoors and on the lawn, with games and late-night good wishes. A long guest list includes Jessie Linhart and C W McCollum family, many relatives and friends, all enjoying a jolly gathering. Kathryn Steele, June 15.

Mrs J W Geax rett hosts a Thursday afternoon gathering for twelve guests, led by Mary Sue Bennett, as dolls enter a beauty contest. Drucilla McGail lum's doll Betty Sue wins praise. games and photos fill the afternoon. a Lily pool table decor and candy beads bless the treat before departure.
The Stitch and Chatter Club met June 1 with Mrs. Edith Hale and seventeen members plus visiting ladies. They quilted a nine patch using 240 blocks and pieced 25 wheel of fortune blocks, enjoyed a noon dinner, then resumed work. The meeting opened with the club song, roll call, and by law rule discussions. Old members Clara and Lucille Hanman returned, purples lead golds in various tasks, and fruit salad and cake were served.
Mr. and Mrs. Earl Nickell hosted dinner with guests including Mr. and Mrs. Joe Miles and daughter Jolene from near Clara. Also present were Mr. and Mrs. Sam Gooch and daughters Gladys and Rosalie and Joe Nickell with wife and son Jimmie. Afternoon visitors included Mr. and Mrs. Harry Rhodes and son Bennie and H. D. Schreck.
Willing Workers met on Wednesday May 31 with Mrs Deewe Cotter for a half day session. Members read the Louis Prayer and a contest determined four winners. Attendees included a long list of Ladies and Messrs and several visiting guests. The next gathering will be a half day at the schoolhouse.
