Linn County backs 4-H youth with financial and moral support as local businesses and the Agricultural Extension Service supply materials and guidance. About 36 adults run as many clubs while 600 attend the Linneus Roundup with trips and prizes funded by chambers of commerce, Farm Bureau, and local firms. She served as Browning post office assistant in her youth and later as matron of a private school in Dundee Illinois. Attempted theft of cows near Knifong pasture
J W Cordray noticed a truck in a rented pasture field and later found fat heifers missing from the herd. He suspects an attempt to load them into the truck and backed into a ditch. He secured the gate and hopes for no further trouble as the cows returned to the city.
