Wheat Crop Insurance and Warehouse Receipts Summary
Farmers may pay crop insurance premiums in advance with 1938 wheat, creating a reserve of up to 100 million bushels to back losses. Premiums can be paid in kind via negotiable warehouse receipts or cash. Warehouse receipts must be from bonded or compliant warehouses, ensuring transfer of title and delivery of quality wheat. The program aims to reduce surpluses without disrupting supply and demand.
