Dinners Given in Honor of Men Home on Leave

Mr and Mrs Ray Gooch entertained Sunday with a one oclock dinner in honor of their nephew Sgt Gale T Bartow of Camp Chaffee Arkansas. Gale has been in school at Fort Washington Maryland and home on a furlough. Injured in July First Car Crash Near Brookfield

Oren Jennings wife Barbara Ann and son in law were hurt when their car veered off Range Line road north of Ray Jones’ place. Mrs Jennings suffered a cracked collarbone shoulder injury and facial bruises, Barbara Ann had a deep cut to chin and neck. both were treated by Dr Kroeger in Purdin and later housed at McLarney Hospital Brookfield. Oren had a minor forehead bruise and all are now recovering at Mrs Jennings home in North Salem.

Private George D. Leslie Receives Bronze Star

Pfc George D. Leslie, 21, of Browning Missouri, authorized by the War Department to wear a bronze star on his Asiatic Pacific Campaign Ribbon for participation in the occupation of the Marshall Islands.
