Josephine Britton Purdin, born October 22, 1867 in Sullivan County Missouri near Owasco, died June 28 1944 at 76. She married Charles B. Purdin in 1892. they lived on a farm near Milan Missouri and reared two foster children. Funeral at Mt Zion Church June 30 with Rev P H Chaffee officiating.

Spencer, seventeen, recently graduated in the top ten percent of Milan High School and passed Army Navy tests in Kirksville St Louis then St Joseph for a Reserve enlistment.
