Neighbors and friends gathered January 14 at Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Steele home to celebrate Hester Steele’s birthday. Mrs. Leichhart played piano, there was music, games, candy and peanuts. A long list of guests includes the Linharts, the Lamberts, the Steeles, the Paynes, the Millers, and many others. The Friendship Circle Club met January 11 with 14 members at Mrs. Cecil Smith’s, and a quilting note closes with an invitation to call the circle for quilting frames.

Road tragedy claims seven year old Rosetta Bonnett
Sunday afternoon near Milan a seven year old girl, Rosetta Bonnett, was struck by cars on the highway while retrieving a hub cap. The sequence involved Miss Jennett Kins driving from Linneus and George Bridenbacher’s party behind, with the coroner ruling the incident an unavoidable accident.
