Donald L. Williams of Kansas City is a member of the Far East Air Materiel Command Marauders basketball team in Japan. The staff sergeant and Browning High School alumnus helped the undefeated squad reach 959 points while conceding 558 as they play in the Japan Air Force Basketball League.

Funeral services for Mrs. D. B. Pyatt

Mrs. D B Pyatt died at the Rest home in Linneus at age 74 years 10 months 22 days. Funeral services were held Sunday at North Salem conducted by Rev W A Pol k of Purdin with Ye Church choir singing and Miss Beverly Taylor at the piano. Interment followed at a nearby cemetery under the Waco Funeral Home direction. She was a daughter of Lafe and Mary Walker Cordrav and was the last of her family.

Well Known Farm Sells Green Top Farm in Missouri

One of the region’s largest land sales in years occurred near Green Top in North Missouri. The 620 acre farm, described as among the area’s best, was owned by Charles Mercer and sold to Boyd Merrick of Crawford County Iowa along with livestock and personal property. Browning PTA Meeting Highlights February 12

The Browning PTA met at Browning High School on Monday February 12 with President Mrs Velma Jennings presiding. Minutes by secretary Mrs Helen Carie were approved and a correction noted for the Equalization Board members Pat Thurlo Carl Cannon and Ted Hanman. Officers for March nominations were discussed and the group agreed to raise half the cost of a deep freeze for the school kitchen and to hold a White Elephant Sale in March. Founders Day program featured Mrs Beverly Moore and remarks on Mrs Hurst and Mrs Theo Birney. A candle lighting ceremony honoring founders and nine PTA goals was held. A collection for extension work totaled 5.20. Spelling contest conducted by John W Grice. Pot luck supper and next meeting scheduled March 12 hosted by Goldie Abbott Helen Carter and others with preparations for a Pot Luck supper and White Elephant Sale.
