Browning Rebekah Lodge No 218 installed officers for 1911 with D D P Mrs Nannie Boyer absent due to sickness. Sister Pernelia Mairs conducted the work and two visitors Mrs Fay Knight Milan and Nina Morrow Bloomfield assisted. Several officers named include Noble Grand Mrs D B Hunter and other officers. some absentees to be installed later. Obituary note recalls Mr Muirhead buried January 13 at Green Lawn Cemetery with floral tributes and condolences from friends.

Fire Threat At High School Sparks Citywide Alarm
Friday morning about 10 o clock smoke poured from the High School roof after C A Fleming flagged a blaze. Teachers evacuated students quickly as curious townspeople arrived, the bucket brigade saved the building despite a frozen fire pump and hose. A large roof section burned before the fire was contained. Insurance will cover the loss.
