Mary Eveline Williams born February 27 1861 in Linn County Missouri died February 6 1951 at age 89 years 11 months 6 days. She joined the Baptist church early spent life in Missouri moved to Oklahoma then South Dakota before settling in Purdin Browning and cared for a nephew Curtis Lydia of Gering Nebraska. She leaves four brothers four sisters and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services were at Purdin Baptist Church February 8 conducted by Rev Geeda Christy with choir. Casket bearers were the nephews. Burial in Purdin cemetery directed by Wade Funeral Service.

The infant Kenneth Laveren Sparks was born Saturday at McLarney Hospital Brookfield and died Sunday evening February 11. Graveside services were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Nester Chapel conducted by Rev Geeda Christy. Interment followed under Wade Funeral Service. Attending from here were Levi Sparks Ronald Dixon and their spouses.

Funeral held February 9 at Humphreys Christian church with burial in Humphreys cemetery.

Last Friday evening the Liberty Band gave a concert in the High School Gym. The event was well attended and enjoyed. A silver offering was taken and funds amount to 15.52 to purchase band letters.
