Elmer Hunter living southeast of town brought a remarkable ear of corn on Tuesday. The main ear is perfect and has nine small attached ears, each about four inches long. The unusual stalk is on display at this office for public viewing.
Last Saturday around 5 pm Lesnard Hunsaker awaited trial in Linneus for bad checks. He escaped jail rear yard after a coal bucket break, was chased by Sheriff Anderson and townspeople, and was recaptured about 2 1/2 miles northeast of Browning. The sheriff fired once but did not need to shoot.
