Mrs Mary Susan Myers of Browning Missouri received word from Washington D C that her son James Gernie Myers Storekeeper First Class U S Navy has been officially declared lost at sea as of December 7 1941 following his prior missing in the Pearl Harbor attack The notification notes this is her second loss in service as Claude Myers was killed in France in World War I.

Willing Workers Club Hosts Meeting and Sewing Drive
Mes dames Mary Taylor and Lucille Norvell hosted the Willing Workers Club on Wednesday January 28 with fifteen members three visitors two men and one child present. Members began baby shirt production for the Red Cross completing six shirts and taking others home to finish. A noon dinner followed, then a meeting with singing Psalm 134 a home made grab bag and a 35 cent flower collection. Aliie te Rata won the contest Louise Hollen handled the winner. Next meeting will be February 11 at Isabel Gooch with a homemade Valentine exchange for roll call. All members urged to attend and wear an apron.
