Lizzie Bundies Dead After Long Illness in Missouri

Two anniversaries celebrated with family and friends

On Sunday December 17 sixty relatives met at B J Lambert home for the 15th wedding anniversary of B J Lambert and his wife and the 39th anniversary of L A Dickinson and his wife. A two course bridge dinner followed by gifts and expressions of joy marked the evening as guests joined in well wishes and a surprise for the couple. First Wheat Allotment Checks Go Out in Linn County

Linn county farmers queued at Linnells to receive their first wheat allotment checks from the Wheat Association treasurer Herman Taggart and County Agent Hall. The Kansas City Star noted $345 payments on the front page. Missouri received $400,000 and Kansas over $4,000,000 in recent wheat payments. Contracts for corn hog farmers may be signed around January 1 in Linn County.

Frederick Gardner dies in St Louis former Missouri governor

Frederick Dozier Gardner former Missouri governor died at Barnes Hospital in St Louis at 2 45 am Monday December 18 from toxemia infection of the right jaw following a tooth extraction. He was born November 6 1869 in Hickman Kentucky and became noted for lowering Missouri’s debt income tax laws during his 1916 campaign. Funeral services were held at Grace Methodist Episcopal Church with burial at Bellefontaine Cemetery.
