In Washington on December 8 1925 Ralph F Lozier of Browning Missouri urges repeal of postal laws allowing the Post Office Department to print and sell envelopes and other paper. He says the government loses money and should exit private printing. Christmas holiday procedures for Postal Service employees are announced with mail deadlines for zones to ensure delivery before Christmas Day.
A Missouri representative introduced a bill to repeal postal laws allowing the post office to print and sell letter and newspaper envelopes. The measure argues government production harms printers and small newspapers by selling at below cost, citing 5 million dollars spent in the 1925 fiscal year plus related expenses. Hannah Jane McQuown Gose died at the home of her son T. P. Gose in Walla Walla Washington on November 3 1925. Born near Lebanon Virginia October 30 1831 she moved to Missouri with her parents and later married John Martin Gose February 21 1854. The couple moved west in 1864 arriving in Walla Walla in 1865 and she lived there until her death. Surviving children include T P Gose Olympia Judge M F Gose and J R Gose Dixie.
