Double wedding memories honored with surprise anniversary dinner
Twenty seven years after Lloyd Bowyer and Cora Browning tied the knot and Grover Cooper wed Mollie Browning, their children staged a surprise anniversary dinner. Rain reduced turnout. about 130 guests gathered on the Bowyers porch, with distant relatives such as Laura Fields from Tulare California and Mr and Mrs Vane Thurlo from Linneus among attendees. The community saluted the couples with wishes for many more happy years.

Mrs J M Hollon Nancy Malissa Baskett born Milan Sullivan County Missouri August 9 1855 died Browning Missouri August 16 1933 aged 78 years and 7 days. She married Paller Fields in youth and had two daughters Sadie Neely and Laura Fields the latter died at nineteen. Three stepchildren Emmett John Fields deceased and Carrie Bowyer. Fields died 1872 and she married James Melton Hollon February 22 1874 to this union four daughters Lula Jacobs Nancy Jane Hollon Maranda Nickell and Ethel Dell all living near the city. She was converted at an early age.

Entertained Bridge Club The Tuesday evening Bridge Club met Aug. 22 at Harvey F. Dickinson’s home with all members present.
