New Pace in Education at Kirksville Normal School

The Summer term at Kirksville Normal School breaks records with 750 Missouri teachers enrolled. After eleven weeks of study, over 700 attended the closing Chapel Exercises on August 10. Health was excellent with only seven sickness-related withdrawals. The campus boasted new buildings, gymnasiums, baths, and outdoor venues. Upcoming Fall Term begins September 12 with about 300 beginners and a large faculty to welcome them.

Birthday Surprise For Mrs Myers At Apple Grove

On Sunday August 27 neighbors and relatives gathered at Andrew Myers home to celebrate Mrs Myers thirty fourth birthday. About eighty attended the noon dinner in the apple grove with a table heavy with various dishes prepared by neighborhood ladies. The guest list included many local families and friends. Mrs Myers received several useful gifts and all enjoyed the event, asking for many more happy birthdays ahead.

The groom, son of John Hooker, is a prospering farmer who will reside on a Lineville area farm with his bride. The bride, daughter of Mr and Mrs F Johnson, is well regarded and widely connected.
