Wallace Grice returned from Herington Kansas after attending a reunion of Company I of the 139th Infantry 35th Division which served in France in World War I. The company merged veterans from the Fourth Missouri National Guard at Chillicothe and the Third Kansas National Guards.

Laura F Petty Brown born April 14 1852 Pettis county Missouri died August 20 1935 near Purdin Missouri after long illness. She lived in Chicago before returning to Missouri in 1913 to live with her mother near Hasville. The Scottsville Community Club sponsors the Second Annual Home Coming at Scottsville school house on Sunday September 8. The program features band music plays readings solos and duets with speakers Hon J Poly Tincher ex congress Kansas and Attorney W Thurlow Linneus. Locals invited especially former residents teachers and pupils to attend. Dinner and hot coffee provided for entertainers and attendees urged to bring baskets and share the day with old friends.
