Memoir of H M Peterson a Lifelong Educator and Preacher
H M Peterson born March 26 1832 at Lewis County West Virginia was the 8th of 12 children of William B and Margaret Peterson. He taught by 16 and became a noted Methodist preacher and school superintendent in Sullivan County Missouri, marrying Mary J Roach in 1855. He served as County School Superintendent and later as School Commissioner before dying April 21 1911 at age 79 near Humphreys Missouri. His funeral was led by Rev J S Rooker at the Lindley graveyard.
