Judge Grants Temporary Injunction in Precinct 3 Dispute
Judge Louis B. Reed ruled Friday in favor of Terry Commission ers Court in its temporary injunction suit against Anna Bell Lay Harrison former commissioner of Precinct 3. The injunction bars Harrison from the court and from interfering with the court and Eunice Farrar in road repair supervision. Harrison has about three weeks to present new evidence and may appeal to the Seventh Court of Civil Appeals in Amarillo. The ruling may lead to further actions including quo warranto proceedings or a jury trial if lower courts find against her.

The first bale of 1957 Terry cotton was rolled from Terry County Gin at 7 20 p m on Thursday, weighing 460 pounds lint and 660 pounds seed from 15 20 acres. The Georges Farm southeast of Brownfield grew it with Paymaster 54 B dryland cotton planted May 20.

Andrews County officers investigated a three-vehicle wreck about 7 20 a m on Highway 51 three miles south of Andrews. Johnnie D Myers 24 of 217 West Hill died instantly in the crash that also killed oil field workers Mendez Maldonado and R W Burney both of Odessa and Alexander Cartwright of Hobbs New Mexico Cartwright died hours later Myers worked in Phillips Petroleum geophysical department Two Andrews residents John H Wise 21 and W P Abernathy 57 were lightly injured The car struck the oil crew truck which crossed the road in Myers pickup The dynamite load in the pickup did not explode Funeral services for Myers were held at Crescent Hill Church of Christ Burial at Terry County Memorial Cemetery See No 2 page 4

Insect control operations rose over the past week with heavier infestations in the southern and western areas. Leafworms remain the major threat though bollworm activity increased in many fields. Funeral Rites Held For Thomas M. Cargill
Thomas M. Cargill 80 of 319 North 13th held Thursday at Brownfield Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. S R Respess officiating. A retired farmer and fruit stand operator, he was killed in a two car crash at Plains Highway and Cutoff 137 Tuesday evening. Survivors include his wife, one son H M Cargill, four daughters, and numerous grandchildren.

Six Escape Death In Fiery Tahora Road Collision
Six people survived a Friday night crash on the Tahoka Highway three miles east of here when a car driven by W H McNeely Tahoka struck a pickup driven by T B Woods as Woods pulled onto the road from a field. The two vehicles burst into flames after a ruptured gasoline tank exploded, all six occupants were hospitalized. The McNeely car was en route to a Plains football game. passengers included Bill and Mrs McNeely, Jan Thomas, and Dewayne McNeely.
