Terry County Fair to feature 99 divisions for exhibitors
The 1983 Terry County Fair runs October 6 to 8 at the National Guard Armory in conjunction with Harvest Festival. Exhibits from 12 departments, 99 divisions, and free entry for Terry County residents are planned with judging starting October 7 at 8:30 a.m. and public viewing after judging.

1983 Cub Gridders trek to Lamesa Friday
The Brownfield Cubs under coach Deane Wright head to Lamesa to face the Golden Tornadoes at Tor Stadium Friday night at 8. The Cubs aim to end a 13 game skid with a mostly senior lineup on offense and a strong senior defensive corps led by Wright and Bell. Wright, in his second year, will rely on a starting group including seven seniors on offense and eight on defense as they seek improvement against an improving Lamesa squad coming off a 21-0 win last year and a 20-6 loss in their opener.
