Water Inc to Form Local Units West Texas Counties

Water, Inc will form county units in at least five West Texas counties during September to expand the nonprofit’s membership and broaden participation. Meetings are set in Levelland Brownfield Spearman Lamesa and Stratford. two existing county associations have already joined.

After 25 days of 90s and 100s, Brownfield and Terry County saw rain on August 24 25 totaling 3.17 inches for the month. Weatherman Lewis Simmonds notes the month ended with cooler temperatures in the low eighties to high seventies and moisture added to the year total reaching 16.78 inches.

Four Terry County 4-Hers Attend Seminole Angus Field Day

Four Terry County 4-H youths Gary Eicke Pat Green Larry Mason and Steve Mason joined John Newburn assistant county agent at the Southwestern Angus Field Day in Seminole on August 30. Sponsors were Markham Angus Farm and Flippo Angus Farm. Terry County led the cattle judging contest with a 416 of 450. The group will compete in swine judging at the ABC Home Farm Field Day in Hamilton on September 6.
