Teen run over in Buckley Street incident ends in injury
A Friday afternoon crash in Brownfield left Ashley Cantu, 16, injured after a car driven by 17 year old Christina Cantu backed over her in the 1300 block of East Buckley. Ashley was trapped beneath the vehicle until responders lifted it. Christina was treated for an asthma attack and cited for driving with a learner’s permit without a licensed adult.

Brownfield approves design phase for 2.2 million water park
City officials authorize Mayor Waters to sign a design contract with Parkhill Smith & Cooper for a new pool complex to be built on the old site with a 50 year life. The plan features a lazy river, zero depth area and diving facilities with bids to follow after four months of design.
