Local GTE sell-off nears completion in Plains District office

Brownfield City Council Sets Regular Session Agenda

The Brownfield City Council will meet at 7 30 p m to levy taxes for municipal government and approve the ad valorem tax roll with a pre year end discount. Items include bids for a substation transformer and insurance, a revised Employee Policy Handbook, and confirmation of Water and Wastewater Superintendent Eldon Jobe replacing retiree Joe Cardenas. An update from the Recreation Council will be heard.

Public hearing outlines Terry County 2000 tax budget and rate

Old Settlers mark 39th gathering in Terry County

The Terry County Old Settlers met for the 39th time at the American Legion Hall on the fourth Saturday in August. Attendees, many who grew up or stayed in the county, shared memories and enjoyed a catered roast beef meal from Grape Vine Café. The event honored longevity with Price and a 93 to 96 year old attendance, led by Ann Willis of the Terry County Pioneer Assoc. president.

Brownfield High sees Brad Neidecker’s career path abroad

The Brownfield High math teacher Brad Neidecker traces his journey from Van Buren Arkansas to University of Arkansas in 1982 then four years teaching in Springdale. He and his wife Glenda later pursued overseas teaching stints with Brazil Jordan Chile as noted on his resume.
