Wellman Wildcats Extend Grid Streak
The Wellman Wildcats defeated Loop Longhorns 49 to 36 to extend their winning streak and reach seven wins on the season and 2-0 in district. Mark Whitfield scored three TDs, Ty Parris two, and Douglas Young two while Darren Ancinet contributed Loop’s touchdowns in a losing effort. Loop and Wellman each had 15 first downs and six penetrations for Wellman led the district favorites toward next week’s Grady showdown.
