Ministers plan Brownfield Thanksgiving service at church

The Ministerial Alliance of Terry County announces the annual Community Thanksgiving Program at the Foursquare Gospel Church on Sunday afternoon November 20 at 3 p.m. Glenn Harrington of First United Methodist will give the message with other city ministers, local music, and congregational singing. Brownfield Council Meeting Sets Access Charges April 4 1984

Brownfield City Council met in regular session with full attendance at City Hall. O D Hearne of GTE explained proposed access charges to begin April 4 1984. The council approved Neighborhood Improvement Committee recommendations on relocation payments under the Community Block Grant and an 11 member family relocation project costing 30500. Blacklock Chevrolet Chrysler won bids for two city pickups totaling 15728.30 with trades of a 1976 Dodge and 1967 Ford. A joint power agency intent was approved, pending two city approvals and a notice in two Brownfield News issues. The council updated Texas Municipal Retirement System service credit and opposed a U S Congress bill capping tax exempt bonds affecting Industrial Revenue bonds and convention bonds.

District Court Dipsits Two Cases Involving Probation

In the 121st District Court Judge Ray Anderson disposed of two cases. Larry Don Britton pled true to revoke probation, was sentenced to 90 days in county jail on work release with a $10 daily maintenance of prisoner charge. Oscar Alvarado pled guilty to burglary of a building, five year probated sentence with conditions to stay in Terry County, obtain permission to leave the county or state, pay restitution of $1850, court costs $97.50, attorney fees $350, probation fee $15 monthly, and observe a curfew with home by midnight unless extended.

BRMC Board Sets Agenda for Monday Meeting

The Board of Directors of the Terry County Memorial Hospital District will hold its regular monthly meeting on Monday November 21 at 7 p.m. at the Brownfield Regional Medical Center. The agenda includes steamer for kitchen dictating equipment staff reports administrator report and financial report.
