Forrest Kuykendall was presented the Brownfield field Rotary Club scholarship worth 250 dollars cash and a 1 000 dollar loan at a weekly luncheon. The 18 year old Brownfield High School graduate, son of Mrs J D Kuykendall, will major in electrical engineering at Texas Tech after reserving a room there. He is noted as one of the finest tennis players to attend Brownfield High School. The Rotary committee reviewed nine applications before selecting Kuykendall and thanked all applicants for their strong qualifications.

Check Forger Caught After FBI Tip In Texas County
An alleged check forger sought in at least three states and by the FBI is in Terry County jail after a tip from an informant. Chief Deputy Bill Gordon arrested 29 year old Harry B. Johnson, a former Levelland resident, in Bronco Saturday night. Johnson was wanted by the FBI and authorities in California New Mexico and 15 Texas cities. Extradition waiver signed.

Brownfield council funds paving and substation warrants
The City Council approved issuing seventy thousand dollars in warrants to cover paving and a western Brownfield substation project. A bid for fifty thousand dollars was accepted at four percent interest, with the remainder marketed at the same rate.
