Brownfield High honors top students at annual assembly
Brownfield High School recognized its top students during an honors assembly. Valedictorian Kristy Hock and salutatorian Krista Moss led the list with ten honorees named, while student leaders and award recipients included Steven Cole, Gerald Gonzales, Tammy Pruitt and others. Brownfield SPC course schedule to start next fall
May 20 1990 Brownfield campus offers South Plains College courses sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce education task force with multiple subjects. Deadline June 1 for participation says Evans with forms at P O Box 3 or 221 Lubbock Rd. Courses listed include sociology government psychology small business computer real estate and basic programming. Cost estimated at 69 per three hour course plus 10 lab fee. Classes run at Brownfield High School. Evans says offerings give locals chance to further education and support business needs.

BISD to swear in trustees for 1990 91 board

SW&L Railroad to relocate tracks in Lubbock for road project
An in principle agreement outlines moving a section of the SW&L line west of Lubbock for the East West Parkway. Participants include Sen. John Montford TEMCO CEO Bruce Borland AMERAIL president Richard McClure and Seagraves Whiteface and Lubbock Railroad president Tom Mendenhall. The relocation runs from University Avenue west through the Texas Tech campus to beyond Loop 289. The plan is hailed as a win for the railroad its customers and the city with expansion implications for Seagraves Brownfield Levelland and related areas.

Brownfield High School will award 120 diplomas at 8 p.m. on Friday June 1 in the Big Gym with Kristy Hock as valedictorian and Krista Moss as salutatorian. Meadow High School holds 8 p.m. ceremonies on May 26 in the MISD Auditorium with valedictorian Tracy Henson and salutatorian Stacy Henson. Wellman High School schedules 8 p.m. May 29 at the WISD Auditorium for 11 diplomas, valedictorian Kimberly Fillingim and salutatorian Stacy Givens. Union High School will hold May 1 ceremony at 8 p.m. in the UISD Cafetorium for two graduates with unnamed top students.

Families Anonymous Sets Up Local Meeting to Help Parents
An organizational meeting for Families Anonymous is planned at 7 p.m. Monday in the Colonial Heights Elementary Cafeteria for parents of drug addicted children and those seeking to learn drug abuse symptoms.
